To Perfection

Wholesome and hearty. Fresh and frosty… and baked To Perfection! Written by Meghan Gardiner and directed by Renee Iaci, To Perfection is about gender, family, love and, ultimately, acceptance.

Gloria, a former celebrity TV chef, played by the inimitable Patti Allan, is finally reuniting with her estranged grandchild, Alex. However, the temperature heats up when Alex, played by Cece Ludwar, comes out as non-binary and opens a ‘genderational’ divide. Can Gloria and Alex find the perfect mix for their family recipe? Or will it all bubble up and explode?

Without sugar-coating the challenges, To Perfection is a comedy that tackles issues of modern life and family conflict in a relatable and hilarious way, ensuring audiences of all ages will find this play containing all the right ingredients for the perfect food-for-thought theater outing.

To Perfection was developed by shameless hussy productions and premiered at the Surrey Arts Centre in 2022. To Production was subsequently produced in 2024 at Genisis Theatre in collaboration with Delta Stageworks.

shameless hussy previously mounted a Jessie Award winning production of Meghan Gardiners’ DISSOLVE as well as the Ovation Award winning musical LOVE BOMB, both of which have been booking tours of BC and the US for over a decade.

Other original scripts developed by shameless hussy include our two original plays about women’s suffrage (one of which was rewritten to tour to young audiences) both titled Woman Idiot Lunatic Criminal as well as Bonnie Dangerously; fast times with that guy Clyde, Bedtime Stories for Amazons and Sonofabitch Stew; the drunken life of Calamity Jane.

The company has toured numerous established works including Summer of My Amazing Luck, Marion Bridge and My Left Breast.

Synopsis:
