Answer to this weeks challenge - If you said Victoria Woodhull you are a shameless hussy. In October 2002 Victoria Woodhull will be inducted into the The National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca, New York. As well as being the first US woman to run for US President, Woodhull was also the first woman to operate as a trader on the New York Stock Exchange. The story of this rather dubious character brings together many little known factors that played an important part in the women's suffrage movement of the late 1800's: spiritualism, anti-slavery politics, marriage reform and scandal.
